Hi, I’m Javier! I am the Founder and Clinical Director of Serene and Fearless Counseling Services. Reaching out for help is a powerful first step, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m an EMDR Certified, IFS-informed therapist specializing in trauma/PTSD, addiction, and the unique challenges faced by musical and performing artists. I also work extensively with anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+, Latinx-related issues, men’s issues, and chronic mental health conditions. As a bilingual Cuban-American therapist, I bring cultural sensitivity and genuine connection to clients from all backgrounds. It takes real courage to seek help. I’m here beside you, offering guidance and warmth as you grow, heal, and find clarity!
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida International University in 2018 and my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from St. Thomas University in 2021. I have worked in community mental health agencies, Inpatient Crisis Units, and Residential Treatment Programs for Chronic Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders. I have been working in the field since 2018.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I use strength-based, trauma informed modalities like EMDR, Internal Family systems, Motivational interviewing, Cognitive behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. In our work together, we’ll look at the stories shaping your inner voice, rewrite what’s holding you back, and help you make decisions that move you toward a healthier, more grounded life.
Together we can uncover your strengths, set meaningful goals, and improve how you relate to yourself and others. I’ll bring tools and support, and you’ll bring your insight and courage as we build your confidence step by step. I look forward to growing through this process with you!
I believe healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and supported. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, low self-worth, ADHD, BPD, bipolar disorder, and relationship challenges. My ideal clients are those who may not have all the answers but are willing to explore their experiences, gain insight, develop new skills, and take steps toward meaningful change.
As a former military spouse and dependent, I understand the unique challenges that come with military life, including transitions, uncertainty, and the impact these experiences can have on individuals and families. I am passionate about supporting military members, veterans, first responders, law enforcement professionals, couples, and families as they navigate trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and personal growth.
My goal is to provide a compassionate, safe, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel accepted and empowered to be their authentic selves. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey where your experiences, strengths, and goals guide the process. Together, we will work to better understand patterns, process difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and create a greater sense of balance and purpose.
My therapeutic approach is personalized and integrative, drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I tailor treatment to meet each client’s unique needs while creating an environment that promotes healing, resilience, and lasting change.
Whether you are struggling with past experiences, current challenges, or simply feel ready for a new chapter, I am honored to walk alongside you as you reconnect with yourself, strengthen your relationships, and move toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
